This Sunday at Fellowship Memphis…11/08/09

My heart is still lifted by the two incredible anniversary celebrations that took place last Sunday at both outposts! Jimmy Fisher and the Fellowship Crichton team did a phenomenal job allowing God to use their gifts to bless and encourage us as we lifted our voices in worship.  I took the opportunity to relieve Damon Conley of the leadership duties at Fellowship Downtown and we had quite a Spirit filled throw-down!

Let God’s praises continue to be in our mouths (Psalm 34:1-3) because He never stops being worthy!

This Sunday at Fellowship Memphis…11/01/09 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

If you are a child of the 90′s it’s difficult to hear “It’s our anniversary” without thinking of Tony! Toni! Toné!’s hit song. That has nothing at all to do with worship this week but I am a music junkie and I rarely hear a phrase without an accompanying song. That said, This Sunday marks the 6th year of Fellowship Memphis. Jimmy Fisher will be present to lead us in worship and celebration of God’s faithfulness. Jimmy Fisher is the worship pastor of Faithful Central Bible Church. He’s also a gospel recording artist and his project Jimmy Fisher & Contagious Praise can be purchased on itunes or on CDBaby.com. Jimmy has mentored & encouraged me from a distance and we sing a couple of his songs regularly at Fellowship; For the Lord Is Good and We’ve Come to Worship. Since Jimmy can only be in one place at a time (step it up cloning technology!) I will be celebrating with the friends and family at Fellowship Downtown!

Here’s a sample of Jimmy leading worship at Faithful Central

This Sunday we will use the following songs to corporately express our worship to God and prepare our hearts and minds to hear from Him:

Awesome by The William Murphy Project. From the album All Day.

His Love by Hillsong on their album God He Reigns.

I Will Sing taken from Donnie McClurkin’s album Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs.

Jesus Messiah by Chris Tomlin on his album Hello Love.

Before the Throne of God Above written by Charitie Lees Bancroft. This arrangement taken from the Shane & Shane album Pages.

All songs are available for individual download on itunes, Amazon.com or on CD at most Christian music retailers.

Here’s Donnie McClurkin singing his song “I Will Sing.” Ours will sound a little different because we have a 4 and 5 piece band at Crichton and Downtown while Donnie has a 40 piece band. Nonetheless, God’s children singing His praises with sincere hearts sounds beautiful to Him if there’s an orchestra or no instruments at all (even when they can’t carry a note to the mailbox!). Besides, we sing to an audience of one anyway. Right? Be blessed.
